Summer Daisy

The girls giggle.

They giggle about boys, mostly. Well... entirely. And talk about them. And dream about them. And really-- just last year boys were snotty smelly things you wanted nothing to do with.
But Kailey's white pony nuzzles at her bangs-- and that makes her giggle. She'd rather that any day.
The neighbor boy is laughing too-- laughing at the pony's affectionate displays, and laughing at Kailey's laugh as she savors the kiss of that soft white muzzle.
She'd love that boy someday.
But not today.
Today it was just her, and a white pony called Trifles.
